After months of planning, Vestal Design is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative, Cut & Paste Labs, in Lima, Peru.

Cut & Paste Labs is both a small web development firm and a design school, taking highly-motivated and highly-skilled students and giving them rigorous training in all aspects of web development – coding, design, project management, and client relations – on real-world projects. Our ultimate goal is to teach complete self-sufficiency, so that our graduates can work as independent designers on the global stage.

Long-term growth in the developing world will be based on education and innovation, not on the menial skills and limited opportunity offered by today’s technological outsourcing. Cut & Paste Labs takes our professional knowledge of web design and offers it to anyone willing to make it their own, no matter where.

That reminds me a lot of MIT’s mission statement for OCW which has been enormously successful.

This is rad. I really like the idea and hope to see it prosper. Best of luck to all involved!
