MKD, or Michelle Kaufmann Designs, offers the modular Glidehouse at $182/square foot versus $233 for an equivalent custom home (says their website). Construction time is also reduced from 14 to 4 months. MKD also claims more efficient use of materials due to factory manufacturing, and offers integration with solar, geothermal, or wind turbine electrification.
