High Efficiency Wood Stove

April 6th, 2006

Philips has developed a wood burning stove which uses an electric motor to force air up through the combustion area, adjusting the fuel/air ratio, in effect – reducing fuel usage by 80%. The fan is powered by a “thermoelectric generator”, although Philips does not mention of what kind. Philips also addresses the widespread problem of indoor air quality in developing countries.

“The Philips woodstove reduces pollution due to smoke up to 90%, and organic volatile emissions up to 99% of the level of traditional cooking fires. “
