70% of Americans would go eco-friendly

A recent poll commissioned by Environmental Defense finds that 71% of Americans believe in global warming, and that more than 70% are willing to change their lifestyles (to varying degrees) to save energy and reduce pollution. What’s even more interesting is that the poll has an even sampling between conservatives and liberals, urbanites and farmers.

So then the real question is why, if the general public seems educated on the issue and willing to do something about it, aren’t we working together to help ourselves?
Is it a lack of initiative from our government? That lifestyle changes take time? That the market and public services do not yet know or reflect the public’s wants?
Or are we making eco-friendly decisions individually despite the fact that the outside world (and perhaps even we) are unaware that others are doing the same?
