Shockwave Jet Trucks
March 2nd, 2006
Thanks to resourceful reader Nik, we now know the subject of the previous post to be a Shockwave Jet-powered Truck racing a MiG. These are some more photos of another of their trucks, which are available for public performances from the shockwavejets.com website. The amount of fuel consumed is alarming: 80-120 gallons per run – but the images are terrific. Biofuel, anyone?
I especially appreciate the assurance on their website that, “Aside from what people claim, this truck has run much faster than any other Chevy truck in the world.” And it has, at 335 mph, though the larger truck pictured in the last post topped out at 376 mph, of which the site reads, “At 36,000 horsepower, the ShockWave has enough power to accelerate at 3 Gs vertical, which is as much as the Space Shuttle!”
And now back to our regularly scheduled program…

My favorite part has to be the jets shooting up out of the exhaust pipes which probably function to give the truck better traction (but, let’s be honest, are there because they look like totally sweet, spouting mini volcanoes!)
