They’re called flexidisks. Used to find them in music magazines/etc… the equivilent of giving away a CD sampler now. There are still places that press them. The band Born Against issued one a few years ago, and were able to sell them at record stores for under a dollar (when 45” singles usually cost 3-4 dollars)

I absolutely love how the title of the vinyl is “Abnormal Psychology: Neurotic Behavior”. Coincidence? I think not!

I have two youthful memories associated with floppy vinyl:
1. the whale song record inserted into National Geopraphic oh so many years ago.
2. stealing the REM single on floppy vinyl in one of the early issues of “Sassy” magazine from Target. Back when Michael Stipe was supposedly dating the EIC of Sassy.
