January 15th, 2006There was recently an interesting article published by the San Francisco Chronicle discussing how Google Earth is changing the way environmentalists are doing their work… using real imagery to illustrate with great effectiveness where bar graphs of deforestation and pie charts of land-use data fall short. Check out the .kmz file Sierra Club made to present the facts surrounding the drilling for oil Artic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and what the Mountain Resource Group has made to illustrate logging plans currently under consideration.
Also, as many of you have probably already heard, Google recently released GoogleEarth for Mac and sure enough, the nice folks over at SketchUp have their plugin ready to go!
