Photocritic.org has a great illustrated article on how to make your SLR macro capable, to photograph really small things. It appears the use of a Pringles can is part of the process. I’ve always wanted to shoot ants’ portraits – maybe now I can.

This sort of reminds me of extender tubes for lenses… There’s an interesting product out there called Lens Babies.
