In all honesty the Torino Oympic Medals that Mike mentioned in the posting below made a great first impression on me. Often times designs may take a second look or maybe even a few to grow on me, but these medals inspired me from the start. They depart boldly from the traditional shape, but hold steadfast to the spirit of the games. They are strong, inertial forms full of graceful movement. I do however agree that they resemble functional washers a bit to closely, but they may have been pushed there by Elsa Peretti’s popular and elegant Tiffany’s works.
