New Nintendo, Old Nintendo

November 29th, 2005

Messiah Entertainment is selling a re-release of the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) which we all (presumably) know and love. Called the Generation NEX, it accepts all your old NES cartridges, such as Zelda, Duck Hunt, and my personal favorite, Super Mario Brothers 3. Plug in your old controllers or buy Messiah’s wireless NES controllers. $59.99, vs. ~$20 on eBay.

I can play Kid Icarus again?

Of course, this is just part of a nostalgic resurgence of classic NES culture. For other manifestations, check out:

The NES Buckle, The NES MP3 Player, and for something a little more risque, The NES Cartridge Shirt.
