Peeling back the layers of Graffiti Art

October 2nd, 2005

How is Graffiti Archaeology different from every other website and book displaying graffiti art?

Because…
1.) It understands graffiti as an ever-changing art and attempts to pseudo-scientfically chronicle and display its evolution in a defined space.

2.) It mimicks the communal spirit of graffiti, an art which is freely done in anonymous collaboration for an anonymous audience, with a quickly growing Flickr account that encourages others to photograph and share found graffiti art.
