Following up on a previous post about hybrid taxis in New York City, it turns out there is a company in Boston that already offers public transportation in Priuses. PlanetTran is a livery service (they can’t hang out at cab stands, so you have to make a reservation to use them) but their rates are comparable to a cab, and just as useful for going to and from the airport. Surprisingly (in my opinion), the city of Cambridge seems reluctant to give them full taxi status.
