Green Office Supplies: Part II

August 29th, 2005

Another way we’ve found to be a more sustainable business is by purchasing green power, in our case, through PaloAltoGreen, a local, Green-e certified supplier of renewable energy such as wind and solar power to the main grid (meaning we disperse the 100% green power we’ve bought amongst everyone).

Additionally, the money put into PaloAltoGreen goes towards the development of new green energy generation infrastructure so reliance on things such as fossil fuels can begin to go down and green energy can become ever more affordable.

Find out how to use green power in your
home or business with this EPA Guide.

Our office is making a big push towards being more green. So far, the area that we’ve been able to have the most impact seems to be in recycled paper. We started a competition at our office to see who could save the most used paper for recycling. Each employee was given a container to store all his/her used paper in. At the end of the month, whoever had the most paper for recycling won the contest. It went great and our company chipped in a nice gift for the winner.
