Counter-intuitive Design

August 30th, 2005

Inna Alesina, a design instructor at Towson University’s ID department, has created some crazy counter-intuitive designs, including beanbag chairs that look like rocks, coasters that look like hot range tops, drinking glasses with holes in them, and more. My favorite is a handbag that looks like a stack of bricks; imagine waltzing down the street swinging that!

The folks over at IDEO have a counter-counter intuitive design book. One might call it, intuitive. : )

The text is called “Thoughtless Acts: Observations on Intuitive Design”
