MIT recently announced that it is now recycling 36% of waste on its campus. At the same time, the pure amount of trash generated by the academic institution has been steadily declining since 2001.

certainly, much of the best dumpster-diving occurs at the end of the academic year, when students leave behind mountains of barely-used items to clutter thousands of dumpsters across campuses.
in fact, most of vestal’s office / home furniture and other wonderful goodies were saved from various Stanford dumpsters.
