The North American Solar Car Challenge kicked off this week in Texas. Competitors are driving solar cars from Austin to Calgary in 300 pound cars (pre-driver) that can attain highway speeds on a DC motor with “the power of a hairdryer” as the MIT Team puts it. You can even track the cars’ progress.
