Ordering Chinese Food in Chinese: 101

July 25th, 2005

Ordering Chinese Food for Dummies. This site provides a basic (and VERY lengthy) tutorial on, well, ordering Chinese food in Chinese. From explanation of characters to pronunciations (remedial at best, as it is not a language site), you can start from the beginning with a catalogue of characters to help you decipher the REAL meaning of that Chinese restaurant on the street corner (e.g. see how “Grand China” becomes “Golden Dragon”) or you can skip to the end for direct menu translations.

Check it out, here.
