IKEA House

July 16th, 2005

We’ve been talking a lot about IKEA here, so it might be of interest to all that Treehugger has a story on IKEA’s flat-packing house. I’m actually kind of disappointed at its appearance – I’d hoped for something with nice wood paneling and maybe wood-peg assembly. Naw, I’m just joshing you – but interestingly, it’s not a novelty house, as 2,000 “BoKloks” have already been built. Though as far as I can tell the surfaces and colors are completely customizable.

Interestingly, there are several comments on Treehugger’s site by Europeans who despite their poor English are very interested in building these.

Jeff: the link at the bottom doesn’t work – I think there’s some broken html in there. Please fix :)
