Bamboo Fiber Shirts
July 23rd, 2005
This company makes shirts from bamboo fibers, and provides lots of interesting information on bamboo as a resource. Perhaps the best part is that there are no tags. I do hate tags.
Bamboo fiber is softer than the softest cotton, has a natural sheen to the surface and feels similar to silk or cashmere.

yeah, though, starspirit has a point – despite bamboo’s extremely fast regrowth, mike was mentioning the other day that bamboo use is outstripping production.
This company claims good farming practices, but who knows?

i have t-shirt i bought in tibet made from bamboo. it is very sleek, shiny, and does feel silk-ish…but the problem is that it doesn’t breathe as well as cotton, so it gets pretty sweaty.

sorry to go off like that…...but lack off sleep makes me cranky about my lifesize teddy bear collection….the grizzly and kodiak on my bed leave me only a teeny corner to sleep on(imagine the nightmares)...and the panda in the doorway…...well…its “scuse me.no EXCUSE ME” all day long..(actually i only have a teddy bear in storage that got tossed in a pool when i was a little kid..when i squeezed it out the water was green so i tore it open thinking it was filled with money.’Real point’>>>>>> greed almost always takes over

starspirit, you crazy. keep up the critical comments, though, cranky or not.
Joe, does the fabric hold shape well, like coarse cotton, or does it hang loosely, like I imagine a silk tshirt might?

it hangs loosely on you.

it would ;P
but bamboo really is like a weed. you start growing that stuff, you can’t get rid of it. we fend it off from our neighbor’s backyard every year. my dad vows war each time- i find it hilarious.

Wait! I thought I was doing a good thing by buying bamboo products! What is this about outstripping production and killing Pandas? I thought bamboo was a good alternative to buying cotton in my quest to do what I can to stop hurting the environment?

Unfortunately I’m not aware of any “organic” or “sustainable” certification for bamboo. Perhaps as the market grows it will become available.

I would like to purchase either tshirts or the material by the meter. Does it have different collors? Can you inform prices, payment, delivery etc?
Thanks a million,
Aguida.
