Architects’ Birdhouses

July 24th, 2005

It’s a sad day when architecture students finish a term, and must throw out or destroy all their models – usually they’re bulky and delicate, and difficult to find a home for. No longer: a German site is displaying birdhouses modeled after the work of various architects. Build ‘em stronger and give ‘em to the birds, I say. Pictured above is a “vogelhaus” of Rietvelt, the Dutch De Stijl architect. Also available are Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier, and of course, Frank Gehry.
