(although I do have to note, much of technology tries to mimic things 100+ years old to good effect. i mean Nature and the Romans both got quite a few things down solid.) yah? don’t we have ergonomics and DVORAK to tell us this system isn’t so hott.

Why are we using advanced technology to mimic something that's over 100 years old? I'm certain there's better ways, but this might work as an intermediate step.
