so my friend, Booth, got arrested (handcuffed and everything) last week by the Connecticut DEP for taking an egg from a nest. Little did he know this egg belong to one of only 6 nesting pairs of endangered Peregrine Falcon in Connecticut (and the only one in the county). Oops.
Egg was returned and is fine, but we can’t stop making fun of him for it. check out the details as he tries to make good: FreeBooth.org.

“To our knowledge, this is the first attempted theft of a falcon egg that we have ever had,” said Dwayne Gardner, spokesman for the state Department of Environmental Protection. “This was no accident.”
Hilarious – the Hartford Courant seems to think Booth was going to sell it on the black market. Hope the egg is okay, they said it was returned to its nest, but I wonder if it got cold. Though I suppose the parent(s) leave it in the nest from time to time, so it’s probably okay.

I like the headline “Egg Theft Scrambled”. Way to go Middletown Press. Got to love clever headlines.
