Manmade Ice Tower

February 24th, 2005

These ice-climbers in Alaska really know how to make an ice tower – over several months, they periodically raised a pipe spewing hot water out of various nozzles up to a height of 140 feet, resulting in a final (so far) height of 137 feet of ice tower. Some beautiful homemade multi-nozzle designs, as well as some stunning giant ice tower imagery from throughout the process.
